“Empowering women is a prerequisite for creating a good nation, when women are empowered, society with stability is assured.”
– Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam
ARGOBBHAWVA HUMANITY DEVELOPMENT strives to work with the underprivileged women of rural Bengal, ensuring a lot of financially liberated women for tomorrow’s growth. Our work at Ghatakpukur thus associates with around women who are engaged in various skill development courses for their own progression.
Vocational training in today’s day is highly valued as no theoretical education can justify one’s lack of practical sense or skill. In the impoverished areas of Kolkata, especially in the South 24 Parganas, women are still treated like they were in the British Colonized India. In villages and small townships alike, young girls are still being married off way too early and they are wholesomely dependent on their husbands and families for survival. We at Argobbhawva have always missionized our vision to create a safe and sustaining environment for women. Thus in 2018, Argobbhawva’s very own “VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE” has been propelled in Ghatakpukur at full force. Here specialized skill developing courses namely, beautician as well tailoring classes are taught by capable individuals to help the women near and about that area find tools to survive and earn their own living.
The tailoring courses have been a major hit among the women folk of nearby areas who can not only use this skill to minimize some expenses but also use this as a means of earning a few rupees. Both Menu Naskar and Lipi Naskar, sisters-in law, have attended the tailoring classes and now implementing them in getting some orders from their inner circles.
Another feature of this training centre is the private tuition classes arranged for school going children of underprivileged families at subsidized rates so that education can become a basic amnesty to every child in the country.
